Coupling nuts, also known as extension nuts, are threaded fasteners used for joining two male threaded rods. The exterior of this fastener is typically a hex so a wrench can hold it easily. Hastelloy C22 alloy, UNS N06022, has better overall corrosion resistance in oxidizing corrosives than C-276 and Inconel 625 alloys due to the higher chromium content. More specifically, C22 fasteners provides better protection when used in certain saturated wet chlorine environments. In addition, its high chromium content provides C22 fasteners much better resistance to oxidizing media that C276. This provides it exceptional resistance to chloride-induced pitting although, in most cases because of its availability, C-276 fasteners are a more cost-effective option. Hastelloy C22 fasteners also offer outstanding resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, as well as stress corrosion cracking. Use of C22 fasteners should be limited to temperatures below 1250° F. This alloy has limited availability and can be made into fastener in larger diameters only (1/2" and greater in size).

Depending on the part’s shape and requirements custom machined parts might be made on a lathe, a milling machine, a stamping press, a press-brake, a precision shear, or machined on a myriad of other types of precision equipment. In many cases a custom machined part might pass through many of the operations listed before being finished. Although custom machined parts are typically more expensive than a mass-produced method, quite often the higher price is justified due to the fact that custom machined parts are generally more accurate, offer higher strength and/or integrity and can be made much faster than most other methods.

ASTM A453 Covers Specification for High temperature Bolting with expansion co-efficient comparable to Austenitic Stainless Steel. One of the commonly used is grade 660 Bolts. The specification for ASTM A453 covers five grades of bolting with twelve classes of yield strength ranging from 50 to 120 ksi (345 to 827 MPa) and is commonly used in high temperature environment such as fasteners for pressure vessels and valve flanges. The material included in ASTM A453 requires special processing and is not intended for general purpose applications.

Turning is a form of machining, a material removal process, which is used to create rotational parts by cutting away unwanted material. The turning process requires a turning machine or lathe, workpiece, fixture, and cutting tool. The workpiece is a piece of pre-shaped material that is secured to the fixture, which itself is attached to the turning machine, and allowed to rotate at high speeds. The cutter is typically a single-point cutting tool that is also secured in the machine, although some operations make use of multi-point tools. The cutting tool feeds into the rotating workpiece and cuts away material in the form of small chips to create the desired shape.Turning is used to produce rotational, typically axi-symmetric, parts that have many features, such as holes, grooves, threads, tapers, various diameter steps, and even contoured surfaces. Parts that are fabricated completely through turning often include components that are used in limited quantities, perhaps for prototypes, such as custom designed shafts and fasteners. Turning is also commonly used as a secondary process to add or refine features on parts that were manufactured using a different process. Due to the high tolerances and surface finishes that turning can offer, it is ideal for adding precision rotational features to a part whose basic shape has already been formed.

Commonly found in farm, road construction, and other heavy equipment, plow bolts are heavy duty fasteners with non-protruding heads. A square neck prevents turning of the bolt.For heavy machinery, we offer two types of plow bolts: those with flat heads and those with domed heads. Both types have a countersunk head and square neck to prevent turning when the nut is tightened or removed. Primarily used in gang plows, road graders, snowplows, and similar heavy equipment, these bolts are durable and reliable.
